Na'ama Goldman is an internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano, celebrated for her expressive musicality and commanding stage presence.
Her recent engagements include highly praised performances as the title role in La ciociara at Wexford Festival Opera, Charlotte in Werther with Danish National Opera, Salud in La vida breve at Opéra-Théâtre de Metz, Carmen at The Israeli Opera, the title role in L’enfant et les sortilèges and Komponist in Ariadne auf Naxos at Ópera de Tenerife, and Maffio Orsini in Lucrezia Borgia at Aalto-Musiktheater Essen, among others.
Her future engagements include Adalgisa in Norma at Opéra-Théâtre de Metz, Carmen at Wiener Opernsommer, and Giovanna Seymour in Anna Bolena, as well as a new CD release. Her latest album LEGATA recorded with pianist Giulio Zappa was released by Solo Musica and Naxos Records to wide critical praise.
Regularly interpreting a rich selection of roles on international stages, some of her career highlights include the title role in Carmen at Ópera de Tenerife, The Grange Festival, and AsLiCo/Opera Lombardia; Idamante (Idomeneo), and Charlotte (Werther) at The Israeli Opera; Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia) at Teatro Lirico di Cagliari; the title role in Mariotte’s Salomé at Wexford Festival Opera; Dorabella (Così fan tutte) and Maffio Orsini (Lucrezia Borgia) at Ópera de Tenerife; Fenena (Nabucco), and Siébel (Faust) at Opéra Royal de Wallonie; Nerestano (Zaira) at Stadttheater Giessen; Cornelia (Giulio Cesare) at the Shanghai Baroque Festival; Marchesa Melibea (Il viaggio a Reims) at the Rossini Opera Festival, Suzuki (Madama Butterfly) at Teatro Verdi Trieste, and others.
Na'ama gained outstanding audience and critical acclaim when she replaced at the last minute the title role in Carmen at The Massada Opera Festival under the baton of Daniel Oren. Her success has immediately led to celebrated debuts at The Israeli Opera, such as La cenerentola, Donna Elvira, Rosina, Dorabella, Cherubino, Stéphano, Fenena, Maddalena, Suzuki, as well as two more returns as Carmen.
In addition to her operatic achievements, Na'ama has performed in numerous concerts and galas around the world. Noteworthy performances include Rossini’s Stabat Mater at Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Haydn’s Arianna a Naxos at Wiener Konzerthaus, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis and the title role in Solomon by Handel with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 at the Taipei National Concert Hall. She has also appeared in venues such as Teatro Regio Torino, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Fondazione Teatri Piacenza, Wexford Festival Opera, The Israeli Opera, Rossini Opera Festival, Ópera de Tenerife, Liederiadi Festival in Milan, and Yarra Valley Opera Festival in Melbourne.
A graduate of The Meitar Opera Studio at The Israeli Opera, Na'ama has portrayed a wide variety of roles, including Charlotte in Werther, the title role in La Cenerentola, Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel, Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Lel in Snegurochka, and Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte. She is a recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation Scholarship, the Basser Scholarship, the Eli Leon Scholarship, and The Rosenblum Prize.
